The first few weeks of 2023 certainly have flown by! In addition to all our client work, I began teaching a trademark class Georgetown University Law School last week while continuing to supervise and teach the trademark law clinic at Howard University School of Law.


But since it is still January, here are three simple things to focus on at the beginning of the year to help ensure that your brand is protected.

  1. Check renewal deadlines for any trademark registrations.
  2. Perform an audit of your business' branding.
  3. Use copyright notices where applicable on your website and on content that you create.
