A client recently received this scam in the mail just three weeks after submitting their USPTO trademark application. The scam. from PSO (with an address in Bluffton – Hilton Head, SC) is for a worthless “publication” of the trademark with a cost of $1,450. The value of this publication is $0.

If you got this letter from PSO, trash it. Or better yet report them to the USPTO, the FTC, and for mail fraud and scamming at the US Postal Inspection Service at https://www.uspis.gov/report.

It seems to me that this offer clear evidence of an intent to mislead and defraud consumers who own trademark filings with the USPTO. When will the USPTO, Trademark Public Advisory Committee (TPAC), Fair Trade Commission (FTC), Department of Justice (DoJ), and U.S. Postal Service (USPS) ramp up any investigations and crack downs on these scams. Of course it is not easy to track the catch those behind these offerings, but is enough being done? Not in my opinion.

I did mistake and made the check payment $1450, and now in claiming check process, and Bank of America does not give me warranty to return my payment

Everyone be wary of every single email, letter and txt message especially if your information has been leaked to the dark web. I as well got the same letter and multiple text messages saying to pay more money. Everyone be safe. Since you got the trademark, your information is public so all the more reason to fact check everything.

I am victim of this scam too. I thought the bill was from the trademark company. So I paid it as a first time business owner. Now I can’t reach them. They have already cashed the check that I mailed them.
