Beware of latest scam from Worldwide Trademarks, Inc. aka Worldwide Trademarks at 447 Broadway, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10013.

The offer, for $2760, is for inclusion in a publication. A publication with no real value. I have never heard any trademark professional recommend inclusion in such a publication; nor any trademark professional use such a publication for any research.

They are incomplete and unofficial. They do not add to your trademark’s protection in any meaningful way.

If you have been taken by this scam, I suggest that you file a complaint with the FTC, write a letter to the USPTO Commissioner, and contact law enforcement.

Beware of such scams. Read the fine print. Contact your attorney. Report scams to the FTC and USPTO.

  1. Thank you! All @ Erik Pelton.
I recently went through the trademark process for two individual marks. I worked with my attorney based in New York and thought we were paid in full until I received a notice from “Worldwide Trademarks” with a “Gross Amount” of $2,760, providing me “service” until 2030.
My gut told me this was wrong, so I did a quick Google search (my attorney is on vacation). Your site immediately told me precisely what I’d been thinking. I’ll mention this to her as well so she can warn her future clients … but I wanted to let you know that your webpage paid off for you today. Again, many thanks for the info.

  2. Thank you for this information. What a scam! I should visit their supposed location on Broadway in New York. Or mail back the envelope provided with a choice of words letter.
How can these people get away with this???
