Yoga is booming. At least that is what the USPTO trademark application records show. Trademark applications generally act as a barometer for the economy overall, and for the rise and fall of particular industries and general cultural trends.   • 2005 USPTO trademark applications featuring “yoga” in the description of goods or services: 447
  • 2010 USPTO trademark applications featuring “yoga” in the description of goods or services: 1306
  • 2013 USPTO trademark applications featuring “yoga” in the description of goods or services: 1937
  • 2015 USPTO trademark applications featuring “yoga” in the description of goods or services: 2824

Based on these numbers, it is clear that yoga is booming, and companies are investing in the brands tied to the yoga industry.  Namaste!
