TPAC, the USPTO’s Trademark Public Advisory Committee, recently released its annual report for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2013.

The report appropriately commends the USPTO trademark operations, the TTAB and other divisions for great work and for exceeding many performance goals. However, in my opinion it is unfortunately that the report identifies few if any areas where additional input, improvement, or change would be beneficial. While the USPTO is excellent, TPAC could provide more leadership about adding new metrics or goals to reach for, and more information about what is expected from TMNG and when.
