In my opinion, brand owners would be wise to almost always select suggestive brand names. Suggestive names tell the consumer – or hint to them – something about the goods and services. But they are not as direct as descriptive names, so they are more protectable, more likely to be unique, and easier to enforce against possible infringers. And suggestive names are more fun – and more memorable to customers. Which is really the main point of a trademark, anyways.
